Learning Inkscape by Video

The Video Screening Room

Another great video tutorial for learning how to use a free and open source program. This time it’s the popular vector drawing program, Inkscape.

Inkscape is a top-notch, free open source vector drawing program that runs on Linux, Mac and Windows. You can use it for print design work, web design work, videos, animations, and even for large signs that drape on the side of buildings.

This recently uploaded video tutorial explains how to use Inkscape to create 2D game art and game assets.

Subscribe to this YouTube channel to stay in the loop about future Inkscape tutorials from Chris Hildenbrand. Do you know a youth who loves playing computer games? Point them towards this video and tell them they ought to consider designing their own games — and their own game art. The greatest joy is in the making, not in the playing, of games. Keep in mind, too, that SVG graphics (scalable vector graphics) created in Inkscape can be imported into Scratch 2.0 games and Scratch 2.0 multimedia storytelling.
