Hello, Columbus: Ohio LinuxFest Up Next Oct. 2-3

Ohio LinuxFest logoNext up on Brother FOSS’s Traveling Salvation Show — pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone go — brings the proverbial tent and revival show to Columbus, Ohio, at the beginning of next month.

The 13th annual Ohio LinuxFest will be held Oct. 2-3 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus. Hosting authoritative speakers and a large expo hall, the OLF welcomes all free and open source software professionals, enthusiasts, and everyone interested in learning more about free and open source software.

Alan Robertson, Jorge Castro, and Valerie Aurora will keynote at OLF this year. Robertson is the founder of Assimilation Systems, a company which develops an open-source, highly-scalable system management suite. Castro serves as Cloud Community Liaison on the Juju Ecosystem Team for Canonical. Aurora, an experienced software engineer and a leading file-systems developer and researcher, is the former executive director of the Ada Initiative.

Three levels of registration are available at OLF.

The Enthusiast level is free of charge with pre-registration or $10 per family/partner unit for those who don’t register in advance. This level makes the conference accessible to all. This gets you into all the keynotes, Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) sessions, Saturday talks, and Early Penguins Track talks on Friday as well as the expo area.

The Supporter level, at $150, adds to the above-mentioned activities with additional benefits like a T-shirt, lunch on Saturday, and admission to the after party.

The Professional registration, at $450, gets you in to all of the talks and the expo plus the Ohio LinuxFest Institute (OLFI) training sessions on Friday.

Hope to see you in Columbus next month.

Larry, that song is 46 years old. Besides that, you left out pack up the babies and grabbing the old ladies.

    Good use of the reference.
