Red Hat Summit: Connect — Dallas
Red Hat has turned Red Hat Summit, its annual Red Hat, Linux, and open source love fest, into something of an all year event.
As always there’s the big tent Red Hat Summit that alternates each spring between San Francisco and Boston, but they’ve added Red Hat Summit: Connect, which is sort of Red Hat’s travelling road show to bring a scaled down, single-day version of Summit to people who maybe don’t want to (or can’t) travel.
This year Connect is being held on different dates in three cities: Brooklyn, Dallas, and San Francisco.
Unlike Red Hat’s main Summit event, which can cost a small fortune to attend, these mini-summits are free, with Red Hat footing the bill.
Although officially billed as a two-day event, the first day is basically for registering and such, with a meet-and-greet social from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or alternately a hackathon.
The second day is really the event day, with a slate of sessions focusing on Red Hat products on the agenda, as well as special in-depth labs. Signing up for the labs, the social, and the hackathon are done at the time of registration.
At press time, Red Hat hasn’t announced who the speakers for the sessions will be, but has filled in the blanks on the session titles, so you can take a peak here to see if there’s anything that interests you.
