Not only is this one of the first major open source conferences, it’s also one of the most well loved by FOSS and Linux users. It’s a community event, meaning it has no huge enterprise backer to please (although large enterprises do contribute to help it pay the bills). Typically held in March, last year it was pushed back to July due to Covid safety issues.

The first SCALE took place in Los Angeles where it was held for the first several years before it moved to nearby Pasadena, where it has been held since. Last year the event returned to LA, after the event had to be pushed back to the summer due to local Covid restrictions. This year, the even moves back to Pasadena.

At the time of this writing, no schedule of speakers or presentations has been published, so it’s recommended that if you’re interested in attending this one, that you keep your eye on the event’s website.

If your company or organization will be hosting a Linux or open source-focused event, let us know about it by submitting it to FOSS Force’s Events Calendar. No matter how large or small, from local users group meetings to large conferences, we want to help you get out the word. Submit your event using our convenient online form.
