AlmaLinux Day: Los Angeles
AlmaLinux Day Los Angeles is a free, one-day technical event hosted by the AlmaLinux OS Foundation on Saturday, July 18, 2026 — the day before SIGGRAPH 2026 opens. The event brings together the engineers, sysadmins, and open-source contributors who keep enterprise Linux running in production at studios, research institutions, and beyond.
The day will cover NVIDIA and AMD GPU driver integration for production pipelines, massive-scale cloud rendering with realistic TCO, and an open discussion of the AlmaLinux 2026/27 roadmap that welcomes community input.
The AlmaLinux OS Foundation will also use the day to unveil a new edition of AlmaLinux built for Media & Entertainment — with curated libraries, pipeline optimizations, and maintenance backed in collaboration with studios already running AlmaLinux in production.
Who Should Go?
- Linux sysadmins and infrastructure engineers — particularly those running RHEL, AlmaLinux, or still completing the migration off CentOS 7.
- VFX and animation pipeline engineers, systems leads, and IT operations professionals at studios working on Linux-based production pipelines.
- Cloud and DevOps engineers focused on large-scale rendering, GPU infrastructure, and rendering economics.
- Open-source contributors and community members who want to weigh in on the AlmaLinux 2026/27 roadmap, or see the launch of the new Media & Entertainment edition.
- Anyone arriving in Los Angeles for SIGGRAPH 2026 the day before, looking for a technical kick-off to their week.
