The Best Windows 10 Commercial Ever

We interrupt this weather report with a very important announcement. Despite our best efforts, your local TV station has not yet upgraded to Windows 10. We warned them that something like this was bound to happen sooner or later.

We absolutely had to share this with you.

On Wednesday morning on KCCI, the CBS affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, meterologist Metinka Slater was in the middle of giving her weather forecast when her onscreen computer suddenly presented one of those upgrade-to-Windows-10 nag screens we’ve been hearing so much about.

We’ve only got one piece of advice for the fine folks trying to keep their best professional broadcasting face on: Upgrade to GNU/Linux instead. No nag screens guaranteed.

While we’re at it, we’d also like to thank Microsoft. This is the best Linux commercial we’ve ever seen.

That one got a few belly laughs here.

    Windows: Unfit for any purpose.

    (except comedy)

Too funny!…I wonder at what point will it become “mandatory” to upgrade? I mean somewhere along the line…just like with WinXP, support will end completely for Win7…and new PC’S and laptops will ONLY come with Win10 on it….wait….that happened before…with WinXP..and Win7!…can it be that the “New” Microsoft is dishing out more of “the same” after all?…

Why the obsession with Windows? Let it go. Nobody cares.

Thats not true! I care… There were never forced Windows updates to the next version before Win10 came along. Basically if you have windows 7 or 8 (which are supposed to be supported for a few more years) you have to turn off automatic updates or you will get the spyware components of windows 10 installed, if not windows 10 itself. With windows 10, M$ aims to take over your computer and use it against you to further their own profits.

Sorry, but I paid for my computer, and no one is gonna use it to spy on me! Nor is anyone else going to take control of it.

Clippy: It looks like you are trying to give a weather report. Could I help you to:
    * Upgrade to Windows 10 right Now?
    * Upgrade to Windows 10 Later on?
    * Enhance the colors of your weather maps?
    * Embarrass you, your station and network on live TV?

@maestro, because Microsoft makes such a big deal about it, and is overly pushy about it… If Microsoft would not so outspoken and in our face all the time (in the past with all the anti Linux stuff, and now with all the please please please update stuff) we would not care either.

If it wasn’t for the fact that each and every version of Windows is “The most Secure Windows ever!” and then almost immediately falls prey to a Zillion Viruses, Trojans, Malvertisements, assorted malware, scams, Digtal Restrictions Management, buggy drivers, etc, demonstrating that if this version is the most secure ever, then no one in their right mind should have touched the previous version with a barge pole, and having done so really should pass on this version based on past performance.

At some point during the video, the presenter says, referring to the popup, “Don’t you hate it when that happens.”

Someone should inform her that never happens on any Gnu/Linux based Operating System.
